Suspension

The pendant light is the piece that sets the tone for a room. Suspended above a table, an island, or a sofa, it brings the light down exactly where it is needed instead of spreading it across the ceiling.

Choosing your pendant light by room

Above a dining table, maintain between 70 and 90 cm between the tabletop and the bottom of the shade: low enough to illuminate the plates, high enough to avoid obstructing the view between guests. In a kitchen, a pendant light aligned over an island can be installed in a series of two or three, depending on the length. In a bedroom, two small models on either side of the bed are a great alternative to bedside lamps and free up space on your nightstands.

What size pendant light?

The simplest rule: the diameter of the pendant should be about one-third the width of the table it hangs over. Too small, and it disappears; too large, and it overwhelms. For high ceilings, a chandelier-style pendant or a cascading model fills the vertical volume much better than a single piece.

Styles and materials

Our selection brings together modern pendant lights with clean lines, vintage models with a refined patina, and more sculptural designer pieces. In terms of materials, opal glass diffuses a soft light, brass warms up a bright interior, and wood softens contemporary spaces.
